Goodwin's post music video analysis

Upon reflection I wish I had used Goodwin's method of music video analysis as I feel my research would of been alot more clearer and have alot more content to it as I haven't made use of these points as much as I should of.

Goodwin's music video analysis is as follows

• Music videos demonstrate genre characteristics ( E.g. stage performance in metal videos ) 
• There is a relationship between visuals and lyrics ( Either illustrative , amplifying , contradicting )
• There is a relationship between music and visuals ( Either illustrative , amplifying , contradicting )
• The demands of the record label will include the need for alot of close ups and of the artist and the artist may develop motifs which recur across their work ( A visual style for the artist ) 
• There is a frequently reference to notion of looking ( screens withing screens ) and particularly voyeuristic treatment of the female body
• There is often inter textual reference ( To films , tv etc ) 

I will now use this theory all the time to ensure I research & meet conventions
